I was also Hotel Liaison to the Overflow Hotel and Backup On-Duty Hotel Liaison.
As Innkeeper I assisted The Hotel Liaison in Blocking Rooms at The Hyatt, I dealt with rooms problems before and during the Con.
As Hotel Liaison to the Overflow Hotel I was the main contact to the LeMeridien Hotel.
The Innkeeper needs to be on Radio to Ops and/or be able to reach the On-Duty Hotel Liaison because they will get requests from Con Staff for the Hotel. It's important that the Innkeeper go though the On-Duty Hotel Liaison for any hotel requests so the On-Duty Liaison knows what requests are being made to the hotel.
The Front Desk Staff at The Hyatt was incredible as they were last year. I think they appreciated having someone from the group there to deal with room problems that was readily available.
The Staff I dealt with at the LeMeridien Hotel were wonderful too.
The Hotel Liaison used Google Docs and Google Calendar which I think is a great tool. We also have a GMAIL account in which hotel@arisia and innkeeper@arisia aliases went to, so when my hard drive died half way though the year I didn't lose everything. Also it was nice having an archive that was not on any one computer.
I personally had a couple of major time drains on my life during the year where I kinda dropped off the radar with out warning, it was nice knowing that the Innkeeper aliases went to more then me and knowing that if that other people did not see a response to issues that they were dealt with.
The Innkeeper Desk in the lobby worked better in the Alcove then where it was last year because the fen had to pass by the table to check in.
