Massage Den

What I did:
Organized the schedule for the massage den. Recruited MTs, set up the schedule, and scheduled massages for Arisia staff. Staff were invited to sign up for massages starting Tuesday before Arisia, and some took advantage of the opportunity. Others signed up at the con. We gave approximately 70 massages over the course of the weekend (for those who care about such things, that's approximately $6000 worth of massage).

What worked:
We had 8 massage therapists working the massage den this year, down from 11 expected: 3 came down with colds. Four of the MTs worked massage den for the first time. The response from those who visited the massage den was generally positive.

Overall, the space was fine, although any smaller would have been a problem. A second bathroom would have been even better, but you can't have everything.

Linens:
The linen rental service worked fine.

Lotions:
Purepro donated lotions once again.

For next year:
I need to revamp the at-con signup process. Some people were confused about when therapists were on duty and signed up for massages when no one was available to give them. We did manage to accommodate pretty much everyone who requested a massage, but I'd like to avoid the problem altogether.
